Clearsource Ultra Water Filter Installation

Looking for suggestions about location to install a Clearsource Ultra 3-canister water filter system. I had hoped to install it in the space behind the curved panel on the curb side of the basement (i.e., pass-through storage compartment) directly behind the wet bay/convenience center; however, there is not sufficient clearance. The few YouTube videos I found show it installed in the basement area, but I would prefer not blocking storage space. Any suggestions? Any pictures or videos?

I think there is enough room you could do a test without hooking it up and see if it’s going to work

Scott, I'm not familiar with the Clearsource filter but if it is like any other water filter you will need to change the filter element in the unit and if you put it behind the wall of the convenient center you will have to remove that wall each and every time you will need to replace that filter. Think about that before you decide to put it behind the convenient center.

I made a bracket on the exterior frame and hang it there when we're parked. Some of us have made PVC stands to hold the filters and sit in on the ground.

Mike,

Because of the space issues, I did not do a permanent installation of the filter system. I place it on the slab near the wet bay and connect with a 10’ length of fresh-water hose to the fresh water connection.

I've been pondering the same thing and came to the conclusion that mounting to the side of convenience bay takes less space than storing the stand alone set up currently being used. I'll be plumbing it in with pex, just need to wait for new hip to be installed. This will also make it easy to replace filters.

What kind of hip are you getting that will make it easier to replace your filters?

I bolted 2 beam clamps on the back of the housing and clamp it on the frame under our kitchen slide out, with quick hose connects it works well.

We installed the Ultra unit we got in the basement.
Upon testing it turned out that the brand new unit was leaking at the factory mount and we could not stop the leak.
So we built it back out and I decided its not good to have water as a risky source in the basement.

Will check for other options, probably a Clearsource Mini or Blue Tech R3 which are lighter and will keep it outside.
