How do you carry fuel for generator

As a newby I have to ask what you think is the best way to carry fuel for your generator. Jerry can ... plastic gallon or ???

My generator is propane powered. Propane supplied by the propane cylinders on the trailer.

Mine is also propane which eliminates any worry of also having to transport gasoline. I do carry an extra cylinder when going dry camping. I don't know but I would think you could also utilize a small ground wire. At work I think we had to go back to metal cans with a special spill proof lid/hose.

Five gallon gas can secured in the bed of the truck with a 2x4 framework that also holds and ties down my generators and two small propane tanks for the BBQ.

2.5 gal gas can (molded plastic) in bed of truck, and typically have a full tank in the Honda 2000 stored in the basement.

I carry a 2.5 gal plastic can in my tool box behind my cab of the truck.. But we have enough to solar power so we never use it. I think it is enough for us but if needed I could carry a second can in the same tool box.
