Tip out still out
Happy Sunday to all! This is Marcy. We'd posted asking for help with tip out, on moving day, about a month ago. Thank you for all the suggestions. Just knowing someone is taking the time means a lot. So, thanks again. Anyways, back to business.....tip out is still out. We strapped it and moved to a different location nearby old place. Truthfully, we have been put through the wringer last few years and have lost pretty much everything except each other and this dang RV that's our home. I mention this personal stuff because we need to know the fastest, no cost way to get this thing in so we can get to where we need to go which is permanent. Then we can figure out all the maintenance issues. Is there a simple, emergency way to just push it in? Please help again. Thank you and stay healthy,
Marcy (and David)

Marcy, which slide? Is it cable or hydraulic? Based on year, I’m assuming hydraulic. Also, won’t go in is a broad range of issues. Is it only one slide that won’t work? Does it try to go out but it’s crooked? The reason I ask is the mechanism for timing slides is fairly simple. Give as much info as you can (what’s happening, sounds, what is and isn’t working). We’ll try to help as best we can.

One thing to check is if you have valves that control the slides movement. On our 2010 they were located in the same door that the landing gear control was in. Our 2010 was a three slide unit so it had three switches on the bottom of that door and you could use the valves to allow one or more slides to work independently. If that slide is turned off then that would be the issue.

3150 RL's were all hydraulic slides. Like mentioned, we need to know if the other 2 slides go in and out as designed. Unless you loosen or remove the hydraulic lines to that cylinder, there is no way you are going to push it in by force. Is the slide straight as it sits or is it noticeably in more on one side than the other? If the living room slide is cocked quite a bit, the balance shaft's shear bolt may have sheared. Bottom line, we just need more info.

Ok. It's the living room/dining room and yes it's off slightly. If facing tip out from inside it's the side closest to the fridge.

Here's a link to an old post I replied to. See reply 5 and 6. If your bolt is sheard off and the slide is cocked ... just take a large crescent wrench to the square shaft and match both sides as to position ... then replace bolt as close to that adjustment as the holes will allow while lined up.

Or you could had taken all the teeth off one of the gear packs, that's what happened to us. The front of the slide that's attached to the hydraulic ram came in at an angle while the rear stayed out.
Working the control switch in and out while pushing on the rear of the slide, got it in so we could continue our travel, ordered replacement gear packs, and repaired once parked for the Winter.

Hey Marcy, Sorry to hear about your 💵💵💵 problems! My wife and I would like to chip in to help you out! Maybe you can get some of the fine people on this site to also help. I can’t say what it would cost. Is there a mobile repair guy with a good reputation around? Alan ☮️✌🏻
