New 3611 residential fridge not making ice.

Have any of our MOC folks experienced a new residential fridge not making ice in the ice maker. I am concerned it's not even plumbed cause I can't find a 1/4 in water line going to the fridge. We've only had this unit 5 days and have left a message for the dealer to call us. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Some have said they don't come hooked up from the factory.

They don't come hooked up for winterizing issues, you will want to turn off ice maker alert if you leave it unhooked or it will "chirp" every now and again to let you know its not making ice

Believe that is common, ie not hooked up. Several on this forum have cited that.

Gray,

Early shipping units came with Ice Maker water line plumbed. Later Keystone changed to additional charge. If you have the line plumbed, there will be two vales. There will also be a low point drain under the kitchen sink going out the under belly.

First look under the kitchen sink and look for blue water line going up to the sink and and another one going down with another value on it. That is the first value. The second value is behind the draw under the range (it may already be open). Normally the factory ships with the first value closed.

Under the front of the ice maker is a test switch, press and hold it until the unit starts to cycle. You will have to do it a few times to purge the air out.

When we get back home, I hook the city water to 40 psi air compressor and purge the water out of all the lines. For the ice maker, just keep pressing (and cycling) the ice marker until air comes out instead of water. This will be same procedure for winterizing.

Stupid Question: How do you "cycle" the ice maker? I want to winterize the ice maker and don't want to sit in the storage lot hooked up to my truck waiting for the ice maker to process a few times on the inverter. OR Is that the only option?

My 3611 did not come with the line already run to ice maker. I had Camping World install it.

When I installed the new Samsung frig I chose not to hook up the ice maker since it was going to be a task and a half to plumb a line into the slide and to make sure it was flexible and won't get pinched.
This also reduces the energy used while boondocking.
I am figuring since the freezer portion is at -2 we can make ice just as fast and dump the cubes in the bin!

It sounds like you just need a water line connected. If it ain't connected and that's easy to spot, then it will be the primary reason why you get no ice. I hope it's this obvious, because if the line were there and it wasn't working, I think the problem will be more difficult to solve.

Sometimes it just seems better to purchase a separate and independent icemaker (like I did 9 years ago). These conveniences can be lotsa work besides the room lost for storing the ice.
