RV internet

If anyone is interested in demo or ask questions on Insty Connect, please let me know. Example where we are now cell phone is getting 1-2 MB download, Insty Connect is getting 18- 30 MB. I am using Visible, which is true unlimited data which is only $25 a month. Visible is Verizon per paid company, with limited support. I will be at the Fall Rally from 9-8 to 9-16
If anyone is interested in the Insty Connect web site, here is the URL:

We've been using Visible for a few months now and it has not skipped a beat. With a small wireless router attached to connect multiple devices, it has not missed or skipped a beat for us, everywhere we've been. If we get phone connection, Visible works great. Even when we return home, we quit using our home internet, and continue using Visible.

We stream video on 2 televisions, 4 different computers, and 3 different i-pads. Not all at the same time, but multiples, almost always. I have 2 different computers for work (as I am an employee of one company and "considered" a contractor for the other), I am required to use 2 computers, almost always at the same time. Visible has not failed in any way, shape, or form. My wife also works from home and connects to her company. So, Monday through Friday we are connected together between 9 and 11 hours ever day. Visible has worked flawless for us.

I highly recommend them.

We also use Visible at home for our internet. All our TV is steaming as well, both at home and the RV. I have a 5G Insty Connect that just arrived at the house two days ago, since we are on the road right now I haven’t had time to test it.

So what’s the cost for all equipment and connectivity. I looked at your photos and could that exterior antenna be mounted at the top of the rear ladder.

I found a price on the website - somewhere around $550 for router and external antenna.

I looked and it was 1024 bucks on the website that 7.3 provided on his first post. That was with out any opinions for the 5G, it was saying the 4g is no longer offered.

The pole mount are the optional Binoculars. The Angel-Wings come with the Basic Insty Connect, which I mount behind the front A/C with optional 12" roof pole. Just got Binoculars before we left, which is good for boondocking. Just setup the Binoculars since we were hunkered down for Labor Day for 5 days, to see how it worked. Most of the time we go with just the Angel-Wings. We stream all our TV, so we use a lot of data.

I also just received the 5G Insty Connect at home, but we are currently on the road, so haven't had time to play with that one.

The 4G (is CAT 12) will run you about $519. Their 5G (CAT 20) modem is faster than anything out there.

Thanks for the reply, 4g is on its way out just as 3g did. 5 g would be the way to go. We don’t boondock yet…but we do stay with in 20 to 30 mile of any small city.

I don't know if 4G will totally go away. My understanding while 5G is much faster it has a much shorter range and to overcome it's short range will require lots of new towers or bunches of transponders to get the coverage of 4G.
Now I could be all wet, but that's what I've heard.

Send a message via AIM to northern lights
Get out of the cities with a huge amount of repeaters at short distances from each other & 5G is gone.

From what I've read about 5G, we will never see it at our Home Base in the Hill Country of Western New York unless they install a tower/repeater next to us, for us only as there is no one close that it could serve.

The 5G is faster on 4g, but not sure justification is there the increased cost of 5G. Both 4g and 5G are available.

Yes, your carrier SIM card is required. The 4g (Cat 12) unit will take two SIM cards, but only one is active at a time. I currently have a Visible and Verizon in mine. Visible is the primary one I use, since it has no data limits, but Verizon is faster until you reach the data limit. Since we stream all our TV we watch,, Visible seem to be best overall for us.

The 5G which is a Cat 20 modem will only take one SIM at a time. There is a 5G modem that will take two SIM cards, but is a Cat 16 modem and will not be available for another 3 months..

Stop by site 231 if you want to see it work . I have no stake or any commission iInsty Connect, just a happy user .

I can give you a referral link for Visible , and you will get your first month for $5 on Visible and I get a month for $5 for referraling you .

I can also give you a link to join a group for Visible, which will drop you monthly charge from $40 to $25. Come by site 231 and I can tell you more about Visible groups. It you have Visible and are not in a group you can join our group and cut your costs to $25 a month.
