2002 slide out operation
May sound like a dumb question, but my Montana 29RL fully operates when you press the "out" switch. Doesn't stop after you release it. Going in, it will stop when you release the button. Seems to me like the switch may be faulty as if you had an obstruction issue, would be a safety factor? Switch bad? Thanks.

I does sound like a sticking switch. When you extend the slides and they all have gone completely out and the switch is still trying to extend more, just bump the switch to the retract position and see if the pump motor stops. If it does, that will confirm you have a sticking switch. Is this actually a 2002 Montana? Is this a Montana Mountaineer travel trailer? I'm also thinking this could be a bad Trombetta reversing solenoid.

Thanks, yes when it does go out all the way it does keep running sometimes, but my concern is that I don't think it should continue going out when you release the button. I had an obstruction in the way last time and it wouldn't stop and did some damage to some trim. I just wanted to know if it should stop extending when you release the button on the switch?

That’s not normal. And I don’t think good for your pump motor to keep running after slides are extended as it loads the motor down. I would replace the switch first and see if that corrects the problem. If not then the reversing solenoid (Trombeta).
