Relocate levelup Jacks to different bolt holes

I have a 2016 3160RL and I need to raise the lippert jacks up 2 or 3 bolt holes because they are too close to the ground. If anyone has done this I would appreciate any tips or suggestions. I was told they would need to be recalibrated but that doesn't seem right to me if I am just raising them straight up. How difficult it is to get too all the bolts? Some of them look a little hard to reach.

Thanks for your help

Wayne contact Lippert/ LCI Customer Service and get the straight story on whether you can raise the level-ups and if they will need recalibrating. They are the ones that will know and their customer service is outstanding!

I had no choice but to raise my back pair due to steep driveway.
Actually moved them while blocking the road.
No recalibrate needed auto level works just fine.
You may be limited by the hose length, just keep an eye on it.
I do carry an extra pair of blocks now for the back jacks to keep travel about the same as center.

I moved all mine up. I think I just moved them 1 hole because the front jacks could only move one. I think the center and rear can go up further if you want. Easy job (really easy if you have an air or electric impact wrench), I think I did all six in less than an hour. Everything works fine. Just be aware that when you move the jacks up, you will not have as much height travel as you did before. Easily solved by carrying some blocks (I do but have never had to use them). Well worth it if it keeps you from dragging a jack off.

No need for calibration (not even sure what that is). The jacks don't know how high they are; this is no different than putting a block under the foot.

The only calibration that I am aware of is the zero point so that auto level is actually level; has nothing to do with the height of the jacks.

Here are the instructions for zero point calibration.

I have the exact same year & model I called Keystone & Lippert to make sure it didn't void the warranty. I had to raise it 2 bolt holes all the way around to clear a steep driveway the center Jack's top bolts are the hardest but still very do able combination wrench & a breaker bar plus a tube of loctite. Also while your at it remove your pads and loctite those bolts also.

Also a quick side note I drove big rigs for 42 years I put blocks under all landing pads if you've ever seen a heavy trailer go through aspalt on a hot day not a pretty sight.

easy to raise or lower the legs.

if you need to calibrate just follow the procedures laid out by lippert.

I don't remember whether is was last year or the two years ago at the Fall Rally the question was asked about how far to extend the level-up rams. At that time they told us they would prefer to the rams not be extended over 11". They recommended that blocks be used under them IF you needed to extend them beyond that distance. This was also for suppression of movement felt inside the unit while walking around. Guess we'll ask this question again in a couple of weeks at the Fall Rally again and we'll report back here on the Forum what is said this year.

Anyone that has had Mor-Ryde I.S. installed has had there RV raised 2 or 3 inches on account I.S. raises your rv. Mor-Ryde had to lower my jacks so they wouldn't be so high and cause my rv to be unstable. I carry enough extra 2x10 blocks so as not to have my legs extended to far as this will cause the rv to become unstable. I usually install 3 or 4 blocks under the rear jacks and 2 or 3 under the middle jacks and usually 1 under the front jack. All this depends on how level the pad is of course. I've seen jacks that were extended so far out that the rv has to be very unstable. In most cases more blocks are better than less.

Thank you all so much for the help. And especially Luck23 for the pictures. Those look exactly like mine. And yes the middle jacks look like the hardest to get to. I knew you guys would offer some good advise and I really appreciate it. Hey Rondo if anything comes up at the rally be sure to let us know. I have the Anderson leveling jack pads and they are about 8" tall. I can barely get those under the jacks. So the amount they have to extend is reduced. It really stabilizes the trailer using those blocks.

Is this zero point calibration for use on the ground control, or the hydraulic system or does it matter?

One note about moving the jacks up that has been danced around but not really pointed out. The cylinders only have so much travel ... the fronts have more than the mid and rears. I suggest only moving them up just enough to satisfy your issue and not going another hole. Depending on how unlevel a site you land on, you may run out of stroke before getting level without dragging around a pile of wood which is one of the selling points of level up (not having to drag around a pile of wood). Also the more the cylinders are extended ... the less stable your level up system becomes ... thus continuing to drag around a pile of wood to compensate.

wig 315 ... I just now caught you have the Anderson red upside down buckets. Where do you store that accessory and wasn't it pricey or did you get a "deal" at an RV show? They caught our attention at an RV show, but figured 6 of them would take up alot of space even with stacking them.

Yes they take up some room. I have made room in the basement for them. Stacked 3 high they take up the footprint of 2 side by side (or about 16"-20") and I'm not sure about the height but somewhere around 18"-20" or so tall. And yes they are pricey. About $45 each on amazon. They have magnets in the top so they stick to the bottom of the footpad. Really cuts down on the movement of the fifth wheel. I just need the jacks raised a little because they are so close to the ground and so the Anderson buckets fit under the jacks better.

I don't know what you mean by ground control.

The zero point calibration is for the hydraulic level up system. It has an "auto level" function that occasionally needs to be calibrated so it knows what level is.

The ground control level up is electric and the other is hydraulic.

We did

I hooked 5th wheel up to truck and raised the jacks. Proceeded to raise the front 2 jacks up 3 holes. No problem with those 2 jacks. Didn’t need to adjust the other ones. Didn’t need any other adjustments.

Add me to the list that have raised their rear jacks. No calibration needed. Be sure to get torque them to Lippert's specs (I don't recall what that is but its on their web site). And I always put at least one extra block under each. I figure a shorter extension makes the RV a little more stable

I also added bolts to the 4 rear leveling jacks. Didn't like that the factory had them two at the bottom and two at the center, so added two more at the top of each. Overkill but the RV was new to me at the time and I was looking for things to do to it

I relocated my jacks up, I believe 3 holes, as I too thought they were close to the ground, especially the ones aft of the axles. For me it was done by the selling dealer as I was fortunate to catch it upon delivery, Camping World (not the wanted $400+, without any calibration offers

I did not need to recalibrate anything; however I did purchase the Andersen jack blocks and very highly recommend them. Here is a link where I bought them on Amazon. They are pricey, but they are very well made, and extremely easy to use.
