Grey water valve

My grey water valve for the shower/bathroom “seems”to open and only time water comes out is when tank is 2/3’s full. When we run the shower with the valve open water trickles out. It’s like the valve is only opening part way. Can anyone tell me where the actual valve is located so I don’t have to tear the whole thing apart to find it? I have a Keystone Montana 3120

I have never tried to access my tank valves, but my understanding is that you can't access the valves without removing the coroplast bottom...maybe not the whole bottom but it might be possible to create an "access hatch" in the coroplast to get to the valves. Hopefully someone here can give you better advice. The sketches below (side view and plan view) illustrates approximately where the tanks and the valves are located. I developed this sketch from watching the various "Montana factory tour" videos on youtube.

We have replaced ours with Valterra valves. As mentioned, you need to drop the under belly (coroplast) under the basement. They are blade valves that are activated by pulling the cable handle ( as you already know), which is connected to the blade valve at the tank. Perhaps your valve is not properly adjusted or moving?

In Mike's drawing I believe the grey tank is left and the black tank is right. Remove your basement wall and follow the sewer pipe down to confirm.
And as mentioned above you will need to pull down the section of coroplast under the basement.
Put a pry bar under the washers and a 1/4" socket on a drill. Run the drill in reverse and pry down to get the nails out.
When putting it back up re use the washers and use 1" #12 self tapping bolts/screws. You have to push up really hard but the screws will go through the nail holes.
Here's a good video of lubricating valves.

The location of the tanks depends on your floor plan. The black and grey can be on either the DS or ODS. Look for the toilet down pipe in the passthru area to give you a clue. My 3700RL has the black tank on the ODS. Apparently the 3120/3121 series have the black on the DS.

You only have to drop a couple of feet of coroplast to get to the black and shower tanks. The valves you are looking for are near the rear of the dropped frame section. Alternatively, you can cut a flap with the opening to the rear to access the valves. You probably want to drop an edge of the coroplast to figure out where to cut. By the time you have done that, it is just as much work to just drop the back of the coroplast.

Looking at the pics it is obvious the tanks can't fully drain. The outlet is an inch above the bottom of the tank. What a poor design!

Agreed, even when you raise the front legs up it is not a complete dump without excess flushing and time.

We put the Dawn dish soap in the grey water tank, but wife is convinced it would work better if we were out driving the RV around causing the soapy water to slosh around. But according to an article I read all you have to do is leave it sit overnight, but may have to try it a couple of times. ????

Put the Dawn Dish soap in overnight, drained the next morning now showing 1/3 full. I think the 1/3 sensor is still dirty. Dumped more water and soap in left if slosh around while driving to next campground. Got to to the next campground drained it, still showing 1/3 full. I noticed the slope of the tank when I was changing the valve so I know there’s no water in the tank and it’s draining completely. Probably need a new sensor system.
