Torn Awning Repair Suggestions

Looking for suggestions (other than full fabric replacement), if anybody has any, on how to repair this awning tear.

My apologies for the first two pictures being turned the wrong way. I take 95% of my pictures using my phone in the portrait orientation.

I don't think there's much of anything you can do with a tear in that location. There are some pretty aggressive tapes out there that might work as a bandaid and buy some time. But there's a fair amount of pull in the corners and I would expect any "repair" to not hold very long.

Someone else may have a magic solution but I'm guessing you're into full fabric replacement.

On our previous Mountaineer, this happened for about 4" of the awning. I went to a fabric store and purchased "tent" thread. It is a super heavy strand of thread made for stitching canvas tents. I got on a step ladder and carefully sewed the tear starting from the center most edge and worked my way back to the end. It was not perfect but it was still holding several years later when we sold it.

That's a good suggestion. Did not put much faith in a tape repair at that location.

Thanks

I did use some tape in a tear just like yours and it did hold, but when I removed the tape to replace the fabric I had a heck of time removing remaining glue from the side of the RV.
