TPMS systems which one is best?

any suggestions on best Tire monitoring system for the Montana? plan on putting one on. and for the G614 tires, what is the max temp to start worrying about the tires going out? never use a TPMS before but I am ready for one. I have a 3400rl 2010 and will be putting on G614's shortly.

I have this one: http://tinyurl.com/p6z2xd6
Not really thrilled with it, too hard to calibrate and I have had a few false alarms with it.

I don't know about "best", but many of us have the TST 507 monitors and are very happy with them. User replaceable batteries. Sensors come in either standard or flow thru type. The flow thru type allow you to add/remove air without removing the sensor from the valve stem. I have the standard type. No problem since I have only had to add a couple pounds of air at the start of each new travel season, and nothing else the rest of the season. And I remove the sensors during the winter anyway.

I have the TST 507 with flow thru sensors. Works great and gives me peace of mind. the 507 and the G614s were my first additions.

I have the TST 507 system. IF you go with the flow thru sensors you must have all metal valve stems. If you use the non flow thru sensors you can use the high pressure rubber/brass stems.

But if you are going with G614 tires I would only use all metal stems.

I have the TST 507 system, non flow through style with a signal booster. Whether it is the best or not I don't know, what I do know is you will find no other company that is better with after sales support. I have called them a couple of times and they have been absolutely outstanding with their assistance.

Cannot see how you can go wrong with the TST System.

I have the PressurePro and the display is literally twice as large as the TST 507. No idea where to put it in the new vehicle so it's unplugged in the center console. Maybe i'll just leave it plugged in while in the center console, duh. At least i'll get a beep.

Had the Pressure Pro and it worked fine. Wanted the flow thru feature so switched to TST 507 and will be staying with this model.

TST 507 flow thru here. I just went by what I read on the MOC. I got the set with 6 sensors. Thought I would use two as spares but after a year or more haven't needed a spare so I will be putting the other two on my spare tires or the rear tires of my TV, can't decide which.

We have the TST 507 flow through system. Left the temp setting at the default temp setting. Set the pressure setting to alarm below 100 psi, as we have the G614's. We have the metal stems, and bought the booster at the time as the system. If you have no leaks, you will still see a wide pressure range when changing from summer temps to winter temps. I don't worry, as long as the pressure in the morning is close to 100 psi.

I was wondering about the wheel balance when you add the weight of the sensor to the valve. Anyone have problems?

No problem with wheel balance here with the flo thru sensors on the tst507 and no repeater needed with a 3910 and Dodge dually.

I have the PressurePro system in my 2012 Ltz . With the 3725 it would drop signals from time to time so I installed an external antenna which took care of that issue. Customer service is top shelf and will stick with this company when the batteries need replacement. Have been running the same sensors since 2006, and when checking the signal level, noticed they are marginal. I remove sensors every winter when truck and camper are shut down for the period.

I was going to go with the TST system when I replaced the wheel sensors for the pressurePro because the batteries are not user replaceable. However upon contacting pressurePro, changed my mind about that decision.

We have one similar to what Ozz posted. Sold under various names, Tire Minder, Tire Traker, and one or two more.
It works but not the greatest in the world. If we've been running for several hours in pretty warm weather the tires do heat up, no big deal, but we'll stop for Fuel or whatever and the tires will start to cool, so the system does what it's suppose too, gives an alarm for a leaking tire, worrys you the first couple of times it does that. But the problem is it won't reset for 15 or 20 minutes so now if you really did develop a leak you would probably ignore it. Just my experience with Tire Traker. Will probably change to a better system sometime in the future.

We have been using our TST system for 5 years and wouldn't be without it. He saved us several time with warnings and one time was a big one when the brake caliper stuck causing so much heat the alarm went off and we were able to catch it before more damage was done. Having the temperature & pressure readings on the screen is just wonderful. We have the 510 system which has the heaviest sensors and absolutely no problem with the balancing. Hugs, Di

My rig is in storage so I can't check. Do the Montanas come with metal valve stems? Just curious.

The valve stems on our Montana were originally the rubber and brass type. When I had the G614's installed I ensured they also changed out the valve stems with the metal ones.

I apologize for bump an old topic from the dead, just have a few interesting observations from personal experience, maybe someone will need this information in the future. If the TPMS system comes with a signal booster, install it even if you think you won't need it. It is better to have the best signal possible when towing and not wonder. Specially if you are monitoring a spare tire with a rear mount such as the bumper mount.

TireMinder currently has a free battery and O-ring exchange program through 2022. You can get new batteries and o-rings for the battery cover/cap each year for all the sensors you have with your system.

The system I have is the TM66 sold by CampingWorld which is the same as the A1A TireMinder system https://mechanicguides.com/best-tire-pressure-systems/ I monitor 12 tire sensors since my DRW truck does not have a factory TPMS system. I have sensors on my truck and trailer spare tires to avoid crawling under either to check them with a gauge.

I considered the smartphone upgrade to the TireMinder but for now, I am satisfied with the independent TPMS monitor. A TPMS system is well worth the investment. I can check the tire pressures prior to a trip even if the trip is around town or on the next adventure towing the trailer.

I did have the TPMS save my butt last september when one of the metal valve stem nuts worked loose and lost enough pressure to set off the alarm. I was able to put over on the interstate and tighten the nut. Since the pressure loss was minimal and only enough to set off the alarm, I proceed to the next exit to pump up the tire.

TST for me. The rep recommended the non flow through sensor which I went with. All works well.
