Morryde Visit

Out with the old and in with the new. Spent the last two days at Morryde getting new 8k IS, 4400lb capacity wheels, new steps and the toolbox filler.

I originally made this appointment in January to coincide with the end of the rally. Worked out well. They have the process down to a science.

Yep had IS and disc brakes done on Monday & Tuesday before the rally.
Totally impressed we were going to Michigan but plans changed and in southern Missouri.
It like all 3 states improved the roads in a week!
PS watch those brakes they take some getting used to.

Installed right away on both of our Montana's. One of the best mods. You'll enjoy the difference.

We already had disc brakes installed last year. Had them reuse. So we are accustomed to the much improved braking.

My idol

I would love to have it done, just couldn't justify the cost on this unit we may trade after retirement. But, you can bet the next one will have them! Congratulations Derek and safe travels as I know you are going hard back to the PNW. Oh, send us pics of the Spyder too!
Safe travels my friend!!

Nice looking pile of junk in that first picture, just like when mine was done.

I was too embarrassed to post the pic of the shackles, wet bolts, hangers and the LRE4100 after they were removed. Trash on the floor.

I believe the rally price for the only the IS was $4400. I did not pay that.

My cost when I had it done at morryde was 6500 for 8k I.S., disk brakes, timkin bearings, alignment, moving pin box down to keep rig level. Might have been able to move hitch enough to do same thing, but I didn't care which was done. Think 7k system was 1k less. Just a quick call to morryde and tell them your model details will give you the latest pricing details.

The rally pricing is different according to the folks at the rally I spoke with. Also the winter pricing is considered off season.

Just curious, how much does that change your GVW?
(Old axle weight, new IS system weight)

The IS does add weight. However its unloaded weigh. I have seen many posts on this very subject and #s are over the place. Around 300 to 6oo lbs

In my case it was 410 lbs. I think the variance is due to whether the install is for 7k or 8k plus the amount of steel used to control the height.

My price, earlier this month, was $6600 for the 7K wheels and disc brakes/timken bearings.

Never got a response from Morryde

I am VERY interested in having the IS installed on our 2017 3160RL. I went on their website, filled in the request for a quote and appointment and never got a response. We've been so busy lately I haven't followed up - (this thread jogged my memory), but has anyone had a similar problem?
