Squealing Brakes

Hearing squealing brakes as we were returning from a trip. After jacking up the trailer, and taking wheel down where we suspected the noise was coming we found broken brake components. Entire brake assembly fell apart in my hands. ( See photo) Ordered new Dexter brake assembly unit. Hopefully, this was the only culprit.

We had the same thing happen to us.
When I took the drum off the whole thing fell out in pieces.

Had the same thing happen, and was the reason for upgrading to disc brakes.

Happened on the road

I had this happen to us on the road. I want to give a shout out to Etrailer.com as they have the parts for this and can get them to you in just a couple of days. It was an easy fix for me but the hub on my rig was also bad. I went to a Big Tex trailer dealer as those trailers also have Dexter axles and they had the hub in stock. I was able to get my brake repaired and we were back on the road with no interruptions. I may have to look into an upgrade to disc brakes too.
