Slide out rubber seals
I know they sell an expensive spray at the RV dealers to spray on your rubber slide out seals to keep them playable and from cracking, but has anyone ever used anything else to do this job? Maybe a product you can buy from your local hardware store? Any old family secrets you would like to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I was a "spray guy" until I recently learned about the use of "baby powder" on the rubber from reading this forum. No more spray for me. Watch this video...

Poor quality video, but interesting content. Will give this a try. Thanks for posting.

Honestly, you can use all the sprays, foams, and powders, but nothing will stop the sun from damaging the rubber in the slide seals. I have replaced slides seals on our rig probably four times in the years we have owned it, and this isn't just the flap type seals but also the bulb seals. The sun eventually turns the rubber to mush and replacement is the only solution. My take on all those treatments is they are just another way to suck money out of your wallet.

I apply 303 to my slide gaskets twice a year and also on the fan vent gaskets on the roof.

I use 303 as well. Baby powder is OK but we sit for extended periods at times and I like the UV protection and rejuvenation aspects of 303.

I usually use 3 in 1 RV Rubber Seal Conditioner. It helps, but as Bob says, nothing is going to stop the sun's damage.

This keeps from ruining any stickers that you have on your slides indicating what equipment you have in the wall. Think Scwintek slides. There's always a data plate just waiting to lose all of its information to excessive slide spray. Also baby powder and Hopps gun oil works too!

Thetford
I use Thetford RV slide out rubber seal conditioner
My rig is 2005. I spray directly on seals and let it dry then clean up the overspray days later
never replaced any seals
Im in the Phoenix area
still good as new
This stuff is hard to get now so I got
3-IN-ONE RVcare Rubber Seal Conditioner
seems to be similar. Haven't tried yet
