3760FL Cord Reel

Greetings,

So many times manufacturers complicate things to make life easier when it doesn't.

So I have lost 1 leg of the 220V. I have it at the cord terminals you see in the picture but 1 leg is lost at the 50A main breaker. Somewhere its lost between point A and point B. My thinking is that there are some sort of rotary brushes in the mechanism. I an assuming the wires are in conduit from the breaker panel to the reel.

Anyone seen this problem before? Any ideas how to gain access to troubleshoot?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There should be contacts on copper strips on one end of the drum with copper fingers touching. You probably have some burnt fingers. Have seen this problem on the reel used in our SOBs

So I just drilled the rivets out suspecting that and finger look like brand new. Now I’m wondering how the wires from the main breaker attach to this. I haven’t pulled the reel out from the camper. That’s another nightmare it appears.

I had the same problem. Wound up being a bad transfer switch. My unit had generator prep package.

Can you tell me where this transfer switch was located?

Open the basement storage, unscrew the wall access panel about 6 screws. panel is about 3'x3.5'. transfer switch is about the size of a well pump starter box.

When mine went out, I had R and B legs hot at the cord reel. Only one hot leg coming into the converter. had voltage on both legs going into transfer switch, only one leg coming out of transfer switch.

Thank you, this was so much help and I found it just as you said. Something is quirky with the relay. I tested continuity from one side of the relay to the other while manually pushing in the contactor. Red I had continuity when pushed it in but nothing on the black. Several gentle pushes in and out and now continuity on them all. I probably need to replace that to be safe otherwise the issue will come back.

I used connecting sleeves and bypassed my switch. I don't have a generator.

Did the same thing to bypass the failed transfer switch. This is the second switch that failed. I wonder if the failure is due to poor installation. Mine was installed vertically but I believe the manufacturer says to install horizontal. Might affect the relay operation.

This one mounted horizontal so I guess maybe its more of it being just a garbage product.

we have had our transfer switch replaced and not even a year goes by and we are having issues with it again. we were told to bang on it and see if the power come on to our camper and that worked but obviously there's something wrong. did you change the mounting on it? did that seem to work?

On the road so running with the transfer switch bypassed. Will consider replacing it when I get home.
