Heat pump comes on - not the furnace
Our rig has not been used for its intended purpose since COVID shut down. We are headed out in October. We recently had a 50 amp outlet installed and I have been playing with things out in the RV. I have noticed that when I scroll thru the thermostat settings and try to get the furnace to fire up - the roof unit starts blowing and I assume it is the heat pump coming on. I am not sure what to do to get the furnace fired up and not have the heat pump. Looking for suggestions so I can fix it now well before we will need the furnace.

I have the same issue so I turn off the aircon/heat pump at the breaker switch.

Is the thermostat fan set to auto or low/high? If on low or high, the fan will run whether the ac or heat pump is on or not. When you scroll through the modes, set fan to auto instead, then go to furnace for heat.

On ours, I scroll until I get to "heat - gas" for the furnace only.
"heat - elec" for the heat pump. If I set it for heat elec and the temperature differential is 5 degrees or more between the thermostat setting and the air temperature in the trailer, it automatically switches to gas to bring the temperature up quicker, then maintains it with just "heat - elec" (the heat pump)
Not sure if yours may be the same.

RMcNeal - now that you mention it - the fan was set to HIGH. I will go back out and try the auto setting...thankyou!

I did the same thing before I changed out the Dometic thermostats for the Micro Air. I was running AC with fan on high to prevent the freeze lockout.

Mine did the same thing this last week. Some how the switch on the furnace (behind the outside access panel) was turned off. Its a possibility that switch might have went bad or is turned off like mine.
