Switch Door Mod
Have a spring closer but now just slide it up. Use tinted lexan.

May have to hijack this idea. My wife almost broke her nose on that door TWICE this past weekend. First time was on me for leaving the door open after turning on interior lights. She was going to the bedroom to put away laundry and looking at the steps rather than the open door. BAM right to the bridge of her nose. This resulted in the dispersion of some non-church words for me (LOL). Second time was on her. She opened that door to extend the awning and didn't close it. Back a few minutes later to go to the restroom and BAM right to the bridge of her nose. Looking at the steps again. She's 5'1" so it's just the right height to be the wrong height for her. I'm pretty sure this mod is in our future! Thanks for the inspiration!

If you look at the top of the door on the right, you'll see the spring closure.

VERY ingenious and interesting idea! Will have to give this one some serious thought. DW is obviously more cognizant of the door as she has yet to run into it. Me on the other hand, I've clocked myself 3 or 4 times in the past year and a half, each time letting loose a blue streak not fit for tender ears.

Looks nice, We got tired of opening and closing the door all the time just to flip a switch, so we just took it off.

Great idea. Looks nice. Our door is so high, this would not be practical for us though. Still, that's a great idea!

Door Mod Looks Great!
I never liked the door covering the switch panel. I replaced the door with some stained hardwood trim to match the cabinets. I also trimmed out some of the exposed corners of the cabinets so they would hold up better.

Very cool idea. It took my dyslexic brain about a minute to figure out the orientation. Probably would be in portrait mode on a phone but on my iPad it was a bit WTH!!!
