electrical issue

We have 2022 3761FL. We used the electric fireplace and apparently when manufactured one of the hot lead screws wasn't tightened on the external 50 Amp plug. It welded to the cord. I replaced both the female and male plugs. Now all circuits work and all the breakers are working. However the fireplace outlet and the two outlets on either side are dead. I used a signal generator and can trace the wire from the dead outlet through the ceiling and to the area of the circuit breakers but the wire doesn't terminate at the breaker box it continues towards the refrigerator in the wall. I can get no signal at any of the wires entering the breaker box. It is as though there is an inline breaker but I find this unlikely that an inline breaker would be buried in the circuit. Would you have any ideas for me? Thanks, Steve

Don’t know about the newer models, but a friend had a 2008 that had a toggle switch in the kitchen. One position he could use the microwave. Other position he could use the fireplace. But not both at the same time. My 2007 didn’t have a switch like that.

Steve,

Are you sure that both sides of the 50 amp feed are working? You can check for voltage at both of the 50 amp c/b in the panel. Typically the two a/c are split between the two legs but every once in awhile they put both on the same circuit. Are both your air cons working?

Thanks for your thoughts. Yes both sides read 119.8 Volts. Both air conditioners work as does everything else.

Haven’t seen any switches that might do that. Thanks.

Would not expect those outlets to be wired from a GFCI outlet, but ….?. Have you checked to see if any GFCI outlets are tripped?

I would pull the breaker panel and see if you can pick up a tone on any wiring back there.
If not, take down the basement walls and tone the wiring back there.

As you suggested there is no signal at the back of the breaker from any wire. I was not sure the best way to access the wires that are hidden but I will follow your suggestion and enter from the basement.
Thanks, Steve

Steve,

Look in basement for a box like this; https://rvpartsexpress.com/wp-conten...-768x432-1.png. I have one that powers the vac and another line that I've not verified (suspect w/d outlet). Perhaps they wired to your fireplace and the device failed from the short.

On mine there are 2 Molex 120v quick connects to each line out. You could try swapping the two outputs and see if FP works again (1 will be the Primary - see schematic in photo).

PS - device is a Intellitec Power Share Switch.

Just curious since it’s a 2022 why you don’t just have your dealer handle it. Clearly a warranty issue.

Unfortunately for us it was owned for one month previously and Montana's warrantee doesn't transfer.

Good thought but I tried this with no joy. The dead circuit wire appears to be going to the area of the back of the refrigerator. Do you know if there is a GFI at the refrigerator outlet? The refrigerator is on the circuit marked "living room fireplace" The refrigerator works.

Mine is a much older unit but the electrical 110v plug for the refrigerator works off/behind the kitchen GFCI.

Wow, bad information is an understatement. The appliance warrantees don't transfer but the rest does. Thanks all for the help!

Your refrigerator is in a slide. If they wired from the breaker to the refrigerator then to the fireplace, then the problem may be in a junction point somewhere in relation to that slide. Depending on where they tied the two points together it could be in a junction box under the slide or at the outlet box for the refrigerator or who knows what else they may have done.
