Where to mount repeater for 507 TST TPMS on a 295RL

Hi everyone, I purchased the TST 507 and was wondering if the best place to install the repeater is inside the battery compartment of my HC 295RL? ANyone else install on their 295RL?

Mike,

I don't have your model but the repeater can go anywhere between your tires and the display where you have a good power source. Most folks put it in the battery bay.

I have a shorter trailer (35 ft) and don't use a repeater for my TST.

it was my understanding that even if your trailer is shorter in length the transmitter assists with assuring communication between sensers and screen when passing, being passed or riding alongside other vehicles with similar or like tire pressure systems as to not have interference or loss of signal??

Chuck,

I have not had those issues during the two years I have used TST but your performance could be different. My repeater is still in the bag and I will install it if I have issues.

I installed my repeater in front compartment where batteries are, that’s where most manuals say to put it on 5th wheel. Works fine there.

For mine, the monitor unit picks up the sensors after a few minutes and seems to keep the signal just fine.
If I did have a concern, it would just to be sure that any sudden change would be sent without delay...
I may install my repeater just to play it safe.

I bought the repeater when I purchased my TST. We have a 38ft 3400RL and found we don't need it. I'd try it first and see if you even need it. If not, no need to introduce another link in the chain.

Mine is attached to the back window of my truck. The truck has a 12 volt outlet under the back seat that I use to power it.

Mine's in the front compartment of the trailer, on the wall by the hydraulic pump....works perfectly. No loss of communication with the monitor.

Thanks everyone, I tried it last weekend without the repeater and it worked perfectly! I'll save the repeater for my next Montana.

Same place for me. Note: I need to recharge the monitor. I took it inside my house about 100 Yards from the 5th wheel. The monitor still read the tire pressure inside my house. Now that is some repeater/amplifier.

I think I have read that when the sensor is out of range, the last reading is displayed and may take 30-60 minutes to change.

I have had my same TST system for over 10 years. I upgraded the monitor in that time and had to add sensors (needed 12 with the DP and trailer toad).

With my current fiver my sensors work okay but I'm still going to wire in the relay/booster. I figure it can't hurt and might speed up receiving the signal in the morning.

I installed mine on the aluminum frame rail in the storage compartment. It's behind the battery compartment wall and in front of the inverter. I used the electrical posts coming out of the battery compartment.

Just installed mine yesterday. Mine is on the front wall of the battery compartment. In the owners manual it says if you do not install the repeater it voids the 3 year warranty, so I installed the repeater. It came with the unit and sensors. I have a 41’ 5er and I never tried it without the repeater hooked up. Its done and staying there. I have some trouble seeing the teadouts. Doesn’t seem bright enough screen. Anyone else have that problem?

Like most mentioned, our works well mounted above the battery box and left of the pump.

Installed mine this last weekend in our 295RL. I used the Velcro stickers and put it above the battery box area on the exposed frame section. I used some zip ties to secure the cord out of the way.
