TV sound thru surround sound speakers
Is there any way to tie the regular TV sound into the surround sound speakers?
With the AC on - it is hard to hear the TV volumn.
We have our recliners in the slide out across the room.
The surround sound speakers are behind us in the corners of the slide.
Thank you,

I have an audio cable from the TV audio output to my sound system aux audio input. Doesn't get full surround sound. But even the front 3 speakers give much better sound than the little TV speakers.
With some sound systems and the right connections you can get full 5.1 surround sound via HDMI connections. But my older system doesn't support that.

Depends on what tv and model surround sound unit you've got. Most all tv's have audio output jacks, newer ones have coax fiber outputs. Almost all surround sound units will have a fiber sound input. When I put in a Blu-ray player, I had to get a converter to make fiber output from the tv in order to hook it to the fiber input of the surround sound set. (Both were Samsung.) This works fine, although there's a barely noticeable delay to the sound out of the TV.

Don't think they had Jensen's in the Older Monty's except for the High Country and Moutaineers,on my 2012 it was Samsung and just like my Sony DVD/Surround on my 2015 you also have to have it on the right sound mode setting on the remote ,but for the life of me I cannot remember on the Samsung but for my Sony it is the DEMO 5 setting to get full surround to the TV

I bet your 2011 is basically the same as my early 2012 - stereo-wise that is.
Montana wired an optical cable from the Samsung TV to the Samsung Stereo in all their units. All TV sound is available via the optical cable. Set the stereo input to "DIN" (digital input) to pass the signal from the optical cable through the stereo and out the speakers.
Surround Sound only comes into effect when you are watching something broadcast in 5.1 format. Even then the rear speakers are normally secondary providing background effects. In a noisy environment, you might wish to make them the primary outputs but there is no way to do that short of re-wiring the speaker connections in the back of the stereo.
But as previously mentioned, the sound from the stereo is superior to the standard TV speakers. Just crank up the volume and it will be fine.
