The Road to Camp Verde (Not!)

When looking at routes to Camp Verde, coming from the West and/or North, you might notice a "shortcut" of Hwy-89A from Hwy-40 near Flagstaff to Sedona (and then on to Camp Verde). This a very scenic drive but one you might not want to tackle with a 40' RV behind you. And then there is the traffic congestion in Sedona and their love of Traffic Circles. Take I-17 to Camp Verde and wait until you have parked the RV and then take your tow vehicle (or Tow'd for you MH people) to explore this road.

P.S. Do not even think about towing the RV through Jerome either. It can be done (as some here can attest) but if the citizenry doesn't get you, the overhanging buildings will.

89A looks like in many areas around there do not look 40' rig friendly. When leaving we're heading to Lake Havasu City - gets kinda jiggety that way also.

Not so fond memories of Camp Verde . When leaving heading home towards Flagstaff, had a turbo actuator go . Although we did enjoy the stay until then. Don’t remember the name of the Ram dealership in Flagstaff, but for a dealership I couldn’t have asked for better service . Got the part , and had me out of there in three days . At the time it was a miracle to even come up with an actuator , common issue with the 6.7 Cummins .
