Microwave Plate broke !
While using the Microwave for only the second trip with the trailer, we here a clunking/banging sound inside the Microwave.
Look inside and discover the glass Plate is broke into two pieces. I mean a clean but jagged break. We did not drop the plate. It was working fine one minute and the next minute it is not.
Is the glass Plate a warranty item ?
Can these plates be purchased just anywhere ?

I'm not sure the plate is a warranty item but you should have a instruction manual for the microwave and that should have a parts list in it. You should be able to order a new plate. I'd also try the manufacturer's site online and see if you can order it thru the internet.
Do you travel with the plate in the microwave? We take it out and wrap it with the kitchen towels and also let it travel in the kitchen towel drawer.
Happy camping...

Margee, I also wrap our plate, in a towel, but put it right back in the microwave for travel. So far, knock on this ole noggin, it has been fine.

I'm going to start wrapping our micro turntable. I am also going to buy an extra tray for the convection part of the oven. Maybe getting a spare glass turntable is a good idea. Never know when accidents will happen.

I have not rapped the glass plate on the few times that I have pulled the trailer, so maybe the rough ride into my deer lease did it in. I will rap it next time.
I learn something every day.

I saw a bit on RV Today about holding down the micrwave plate using a Pringles can and a thick sponge. They put the sponge in the middle of the plate then wedged the Pringles can between the sponge and the roof of the micrwave.

We have driven with the plate in the micro over 4500 miles ...no problems.

Getting the "runaround" with my broken glass plate in our Mountaineer microwave.
I need help in finding a replacement glass plate.
Dometic says call a service center, the Service center says Dometic should just send you the Glass plate as the service center does not carry parts for a Microwave and Bla Bla BLa.. Also they must have the serial number and my trailer stays parked at my deer lease
Not worth Warranty hassels and I would like to replace the plate now rather than wait who knows how long for a simple but correct replacement plate.
Does anyone know where to buy the Microwave glass plates? I have the old plate and compare if I knew where to look.
I will be searching more but if anyone knows where to look please advice.
