Microwave is broke

Was at my shop working on truck when I decided I would have lunch. Went to trailer and nuked a bowl of left over stew. Pushed the button to open the microwave and it seemed to break internally and door button just stays in and I can't open door. Figure it's time to replace it. I presently have a "1/2 time Oven by Apollo" and its 24' wide x 17" high. Any suggestions for the replacement?

I found quite a few 24” wide microwave ovens on Amazon, some brands I never heard of, but a number of them familiar brands. Also many are over the range types with exhaust fans.

The Apollo Half Time is a convection/microwave oven. It has a rear heat exhaust that goes into an attached ductwork to vent that heat out the front grill. If like my 2007 3075RL it is mounted in a tight cabinet that needs some way to vent that heat. A plain microwave would not be a problem. But if you intend to get another convection/microwave you need to keep that venting in mind.

OMG an Apollo microwave still lives on. I just sorta assumed they were all replaced by now. They were infamous for door latch breakage. A Search on "apollo" will uncover a ton of Threads on them, the door latch (they used to send replacements and others fixed them) and potential replacements (albeit 10+ year old info and likely out of date).

I might, emphasis *might* have a spare door latch squirreled away. *IF* I can find it, do you want it?

Being ours is an 05 model and previous owner hardly ever used the microwave and only made 7 trips in it during the 17 years they owned it not surprising it waited till we bought it as we used the microwave frequently. I think I'll just replace it with a conventual microwave.

Appreciate the offer but I'll just cut my losses now.

We had the High Pointe Model EC942KIW.
Convection/ Microwave.
We never used the convection.
Replaced it with Whirlpool WMH31017HZ04
Microwave only.
Had to do some cutting to make the rear vent to align. No biggie.

I had nearly the same thing happen, but after the food was done. It is fixable. At least in my case, just remove it and take off the cover. Be careful about anything electrical. (Powerful capacitor) Work the push button and you will see how it’s supposed to work. It just amounts to bending the proper metal tabs so everything stays in place when actuated. I can’t explain it without looking at it. It’s not hard, just requires a little thought to save some bucks

I just replaced my microwave same model as yours from Rec Pro with a Rec Pro model. Remove, plug in new one and done.

I replaced ours with a whirlpool. The venting was adjustable.

Ordered this one from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097S2M4F8...roduct_details

Came in yesterday and I thought I would install it today BUT no stainless face plate trim came with it as shown in the pictures and dimensions, so now I'm told by Amazon to return microwave for refund. I'll try calling Rec Pro and see what can be done.

On Edit: Talked with Rec Pro and their customer service is excellent. Sending out a trim ring today. All they needed was Amazon's order number.

Just installed a Furrion plain microwave in place of my failing Apollo. Since the power is supplied by a straight forward 3 prong AC Plug--unplug Apollo, lift and slide out of shelf it is on, slide in Furrion, plug in AC plug, TEST--it works!, then fashion connections to sides to opening for Furrion to be secured to RV. Yes, it was done and ready for the road this summer!
