Colter Bay RV Park

Question to those of you that have stayed at Colter Bay RV Park in Grand Teton NP. We have a site reserved (C437) that will accommodate a 40' 5th wheel (our 3121 is 35'). Since the website states that it will accommodate a 5th wheel, I would assume it will include space for a tow vehicle. Any thoughts? I'm trying to contact the park directly. Emailed their website which was useless. I've looked at a youtube video and found the site and it looks like it will work but will be tight.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe a first, I'm going to answer my own question. I did find way down in the description of my camp site that it is 58' overall length, so I should be good to go. Now I just need to take a loan out for diesel fuel.

I stayed there 2 years ago for our 50th anniversary. I looked into dinner at the fancy restaurant there. The dinner menu gave a selection of one of 2 or 3 main 'meats' and same for veggies. I didn't really like any options and the cost was around $100 a person!!! We went in to a really nice BBQ/Steak place in Jackson instead.

Thanks for the heads up!

agree with twindman, we ate there once, not very good. Leeks Marina has a pizza place, pretty good pizza, just north of CB

We were there several years ago, loved it! Be sure to walk down to the lakeshore and watch the sunrise gradually light the Tetons across the water it is spectacular. Did have 2 bear visits so be careful with your outside food and pets!

Will do! No pets but I do like to grill. I'm a little hesitant on grilling there.

As long as your grill isn't to greasy the bears shouldn't bother it. If a particularly hungry rascal shows while you're cooking all bets are off. Remember it's better to give up the steak than a piece of your hind side!!

We were there last year. We have a 42’ River Ranch. Tree canopy was close. The bigger issue was turning down our lane. Had to tie back small pine trees to miss our tail swing. You should be good if you line up your turns correctly. I hope the lake is at a decent level for your visit. Last year they sold off water to Idaho and the lake was way low. This was in late September. I imagine the spring is better with the snow melt. Really loved everything about the park. Your length in your site should be fine. We have a Ram 3500 4 door long bed and our 42’ 5vr. We had no problem parking.

Don't worry, the ranger will not let you leave that grill outside. He will warn you and the next time cite you. No grills left outside.

Thanks, definitely won't leave outside. Just didn't know about using it at all, or smell coming from basement or truck bed (has a hard cover). Sounds like I'm ok cooking on it but put it up when finished.

That is correct. Quite OK to grill as long as you are attending.

Gee, who would want to camp near this view! We were there a couple of years ago and the mountains were about half covered in snow. Think we went in June, tho.
