Wish I Would have Found This Forum Two Weeks Ago

Hello Everyone!

I'm here basically to learn stuff for my mom who just purchased her new 5th wheel. This is her third one, but in the past, she had the expertise of her husband who has passed away. She decided to continue their lifestyle but a bit more planted. Anyway, this purchase has been a kind of nightmare and luckily, better late than never, I found your forum. Hopefully I won't be too much of a pest with silly questions. :]

Welcome aboard! There are no silly questions. All of us were new at this at some point. Feel free to ask.

Perhaps start with going up to the upper left corner of this page to User CP. There you can create a signature that includes year and model of trailer as well as tow vehicle. That will help in answering questions.

I second Jeff's sentiment, "There are no silly questions". Sometimes it seems the RV manufacturers, especially the "engineers", spend a lot of time and effort making these things more complicated than necessary. In the immortal words of Montgomery Scott, "the more plumbing they add, the easier it is to stop up the drain".
Even the most seasoned veterans get stumped sometimes. Don't be afraid or ashamed to ask. Everyone here started somewhere and had to learn along the way.

Welcome to the forums and feel free to ask any question or make any comment. I've been an RV owner for over 25 years and I grew up with travel trailers since I was 8 years old (I'm now 67) and I'm still learning new things about RV's, and especially my own. Some things I simply do not know. But I keep reading here and other places in an attempt to learn as much as I can. It's kind of like putting money in a saving account. You put money away and save it up. You don't need it at the moment, so you "bank" in. Then comes the day a high ticket item comes along and you pull the money out of the bank, and you've got the money and it doesn't affect your current financial lifestyle at all. Learning everything you can about RV is exactly like that. Learn all you can and "bank" that knowledge. You may not need it right now, but EVENTUALLY with any RV, a day will come when "it" will happen. And you'll go back to your "memory bank" and remember ... oh ya! I read something about this and this is what they said the solution was!

Congrats to you and your Mom on the new Montana. And welcome to the forums!

Welcome to the forum! If you go back and look at many of our first posts you'll see that there are no foolish questions only folks foolish enough not to ask and learn before they mess something up.

I would have made some expensive mistakes if I hadn't good info about RV'ing.Bed savers, black tank problems, back flo valves, tires and much more. Thanks to the expertise and help from this forum I have saved a lot of money and potential problems prevented Where is "Rich" ?

My husband just passed away in Feb. just made my maiden voyage to my in-laws. I have a 40 ft FW. Very scary but I made it. I hope it gets easier.
