Poll: Spare room thoughts
This poll is an inquire of what your spare room would include in your fifth wheel. Please vote on the poll. Comments are also appreciated.
I understand this may not apply to all Montana owners, but I'd like each of you to vote.
If the overall length of the fifth wheel was not an issue. And you could have a spare room. What would that room be?
This poll will close in 60 days.

Office; I think there is an increasing number of folks like me - working from RV virtually, which enables more use of the RV.
I will be interested to see the voting results!

Same here. I'm a software engineer and work from the road. My wife also does a lot of home office stuff on her computer and would appreciate having a place to work. We have a 2019 3791RD and the dining table sits a little high to be used as a computer desk. I've seen mods where the dining table was replaced, but we aren't ready to do that yet. I bought a high end laptop for the time being, but I really need my full desktop quite often. I'm currently remoting into the main server at home from the laptop for development work.

We already have the desk option, but a dedicated laundry room would be nice, instead of in the main bedroom like we have now.

I voted for a Storage Room.
DW says she has plenty of room for laundry work, and
I hope I don't have to work enough to need an office ever again.

Being retired, I don't need an office, I already have a laundry area in my 3700RL, and another room for storage breaks up the open space we love. So lacking an appropriate response, I didn't vote.

I voted for the storage room for personal use as a closet or pantry or even the possible "Man Cave!" Since we don't have the washer/ dryer in our unit and we do all of our laundry at the campground facility or take it to a laundry facility near so we can do it all at once. The office idea is OK BUT since we're both retired and don't want to WORK anymore (except for upkeep at two locations) we don't need the large desk. Laptop fits well on the dining table or on the lap pad we have for use when sitting in the recliner or sofa. The larger size units are great BUT they also cannot be used in many of the National or State Parks. If Montana is considering it, I would say make it an option as to what someone wants to use it for storage or pantry area or whatever. Thanks for asking our opinion and keep us informed on what Montana Division decides on.

Could it be a combo. Washer/dryer, some counter on one side and desk on other side?

We have a 3854BR, so we have an extra room, my wife calls it the marriage saver. Lol. She can watch TV in the LR and that is my room, with couch, desk, computer and TV. We have a stackable W/D and my wife says it’s fine. Unfortunately I believe they discontinued this model. We think it is perfect.

Obviously this poll was made by a man because speaking for the ladies I would have to go with craft room if I had a choice. And really you men can vite any way you want but ultimately it is up to the females!LOL!

I have my bunkhouse room and since there is only 2 of us camping, it is in essence a bonus room. We have 2 jackknife sofas, 2 fold up bunks, a TV and a minifridge, and access to the 1/2 bath.
If I could change my layout at all, my only wish would be to not have any part of the bathroom in my bedroom.

We've enough room
Our 3825 RL has enough room. The side by each washer and dryer have a room to themselves across the hall from the bathroom. We removed the recliners that we never used from the rear of the living room and installed my desk which took up about one half of the space. That left us with storage room for dog crates, etc. Wife folds clothes on the bed so there is no problem there. We sit on the couch if we have to watch the Big Screen which we do very little of account we're just not very good at watching TV.
This trailer has plenty of storage for all of our stuff but perhaps we would feel differently if we were full timers. We have done extended stays without feeling cramped. When we trade again, we will be looking for a similar floor plan because of the space this one provides.
Therefore, our answer is not going to fit in the space provided.

A desk would be the most versatile add. We modded our 3813MS to put a desk in the the space occupied the front closet. Fits our lifestyle perfectly.

We HAD a 2017 Montana with the bonus room until my wife saw the 2019.5 3761 FL, had to have the front living room! We now have a 2022 3855BR. She had to have the bonus room again. Key words "she had to have" as after hanging a tv there was/is no resson for me to be in HER room. Her paints, Her sewing machine (2), Her crafts. So she has her room and I have PART OF the loft, she has the majority of that too. Fine with me, she stays busy always. I have one thing I wish~~ the outside kitchen is just a waste of storage space that needs changed.

Interesting poll. Of course many SOB toy haulers provide the "spare room" that so many could utilize.
We are just ending our first year in a new 44' toy hauler. For us as FT travelers we didn't have much choice due to having a Harley with us. However, when on a site for more than a couple days we can convert the garage to full laundry room, spare bedroom, open room with outside raised deck, or game room using the table/bench combination. It can be converted in less than 10 minutes.
To be honest, if we end up without a motorcycle but stay FTing we would still travel in this unit or similar TH setup. As FTers this extra room with the storage loft is perfect.

I think the storage / washer dryer area gets my vote! I would like the washer and dryer not in the kitchen as it’s in the 3931. Maybe taking a 3955 and have the washer dryer / storage/ or pet room might work.
Thanks for asking
