3400RL furnace questions

New to the Forum. I live in Kentucky and have recently purchased a 2009 Montana 3400RL. We're rebuilding the unit the unit. We're trying the furnace and found that it's real slow in heating the unit. Furnace is on and there is heat coming out of the exhaust. This unit has been sitting for about 18 months.
Is this normal? We've had several other pull behind RV's as well as a Newmar Mountainaire. Those units heat up pretty quick.
