Cat320 Montana Master Join Date: May 2006 Location: Posts: 1,703 M.O.C. #5751	Chevy 8.1L V8 My truck saleman and I had a long conversation today about various truck issues. He mentioned that the 8.1L had been dropped from the truck line. GM's reasoning is that those that were buying the 8.1 are now buying diesels. As an alternative to the diesel, they have tweaked the 6.0L up to 353 hp, and the party line is that those that insist on a gasser will be happy with the beefed up 6.0L. Time will tell.
