Anyone Else Got this Letter from Goodsam ?

Got a mailing today from Good Sam Roadside Assistance forcing me to move up to the Platinum Level from where we have been for 15 years or so, they were "kind" enough to give us a complimentary upgrade to the Platinum Level for the duration of our current subscription. The letter states that they will no longer be able to service 5th wheels on the basic plan. Has anyone else received this good news?

We don’t use them anymore. Moved to Escapees.

No surprise. We have had Coach-net towable coverage (that also includes any of our vehicles towing or not) for years and they bumped their rate up to $149/yr a few years ago from something below $100/yr.

Rejected them the first year of full timing and went to Coach-Net. Great service with them and never been sorry. Not something, for us, where saving money is the most important thing.

I checked web site and the platinum is required for motorized RV's. I think the standard auto/rv plan (with auto renewal) is $129 per year.

Just found this on Coach Net. This is for new membership. I don't know if renewal rates are different

Yes, Coach-Net renewal rates are $149. Just renewed mine last week. I think Good Sam offers a low 1st year new customer rate and bumps it the next year. Coach-Net has a higher 1st year rate and drops it on renewals.

My comment above was for Good Sam insurance, not Coach Net

I dropped Good Sam's when they raised pricing last year....now have AAA Roadside Assistance (RV plan included) for $85/year. Haven't used their service yet, but hopefully I won't have any problems when I do!

Sounds like Coach-Net for me when GoodSam membership expires. Thanks for the help.

I'm intrigued by Escapees. I hadn't heard anything about them until this thread but they seem to have a pretty comprehensive plan and a lot of stated benefits. Does anyone else have any experience with them?

We started full time last May. We sold our home so Allstate would no longer cover us. We went with Escapees from the information we heard at their March rally last year. It was $99 year for all vehicles. When we received our cards it only mentioned the Montana as covered. We called them and were told since our truck was a super duty, we had to have a separate policy for it; another $99. We haven't had to use them so we have no experience on their quality of work. This May we will be looking at other options for full timers.

I have a 5 yr roadside assistance that was included with my 2017 F350. The way the card looked I thought it came from Ford. You should have that.

Marcus Lemonis is quite the business man. We quit purchasing insurance and as many other things from him that we can purchase from other places, when I realized a few particular things about his business approach.

I got the letter as well. I've heard a lot of people talking about how great FMCA is - anybody have any input on them?

We had both AAA and Good Sam at one time. Blew a China bomb on our 10 month 3400 Big Sky on the overseas hwy on the west end of Marathon Key. Good Sam said they would take 4 hrs to get there. AAA said 1 hr. I had a scuba bottle for my impact wrench and a 20 ton jack in the basement. I had the tire off and replaced in 25 minutes, and the fender and slide skirting that got torn off gathered and tossed into the back of the truck and back on the road in 45 minutes total. We dropped GS after that. But we still have GS extended service on both the rig and the truck. If it isn't welded to the frame it is covered. Combined cost is 60 bucks a month..

If it's Good Sam (CW), it's a scam.
