slide problem

We have a 2004 2955RL unit that had alot of problems in the first year but has been very dependable until this last trip. When we arrived and were ready to put slides out the bedroom slide came out as it normally does but the large slide went out abou two inches and then stopped. We then brought the slides back in and tried again, same problem.I had to crawl underneath and wind the bar between the teeth and then all of a sudden the slide took off and operated as it normally does.We tried the slides four or five times and they operated normally. The battery was fully charged before the trip and the fluid level is full when the slides are in.The hydraulic ram is clean and has no rust or dirt on it.the gears are lubricated per by what Dale says to do. Just curious if anyone else has this problem and what the fix is to repair it so it does not happen again.Just a side thought , this unit did sit for about 6 weeks with the slides closed in the heat before this trip. The battery was disconnected during this time and then plugged up for two days before the trip.
