Replacement Shocks 2015 F350 6.7 4wd crew cab
Looking to replace existing shocks on 2015 Super Duty. Truck has 44K miles . On 9/8 I experienced a blow out /tread separation on my Michelin tire, driver side rear. Over 5K in damage to body and additional parts. Truck in shop now. I did replace all 5 tires with new NOT Michelins. I think now would be a good time to replace shocks as well. I had the Bilstein 5100 on my previous truck. Ride was a bit stiffer than factory stock.
Any comments, suggestions on this would be appreciated. The Bilsteins are a great product, but I mostly use truck tor towing and highway .

I'd say one of the Bilstein model shocks. They always seems like a good choice for a factory replacement shock.

I put Bilsteins on the last truck, an F350. They did a great job but seemed to about shake the fillings out of my teeth. The current truck which is an F250 but with actually heavier suspension by actual part numbers, went with KYB shocks. Still a 'strong' ride but just not as choppy. They are still doing their job 60+K miles later

I had the 5100s on my previous F250, will probably go with the 5160s on the current F350 when the time comes.

I'll second the Ranchos. The original shocks on my 2014 F350 were made by Rancho for Ford. I am replacing my stock shocks with the adjustable Rancho's in December. Currently travelling until then. Also, I put on Timbren's a few months ago. Completely eliminated the porpoising on overpasses and bridges.

I'm still running my stock shocks with 67,000 miles They still seem to be good. I see no reason to change out the shocks till they go bad.

I have found that you don't realize how bad they were until they are replaced with something better.

I'm saving my money for a bigger RV. You could spend more than $500 for a set of shocks. I'm just a cheap ass.

OE shocks on this an my last Ford were GONE in less then 35K miles. The last truck shoks (Rancho branded) were stood up in a corner, waiting a trip to the dump. Two of then collapsed totally retracted by the weight of the top only

At this stage I'm pretty much a Bilstein fan. Used to use Ranchos on my off road toys and a couple of pickups back when I was using them. They were OK but didn't seem to be much of an upgrade. The last set was the adjustable RS9000 type and I still didn't like them.
Keep in mind that the Bilsteins are more "purpose" built IMO. The 4600 series is more or less an OEM replacement which I've never used. The 5100 comes in various configurations for lifted trucks or not. You have to look at the specs. They are firm but haven't noticed that they are any more firm than OEM shocks. They do seem to help more under load. Here is a little comparison between the Rancho and Bilstein; one of I'm sure many....

I have decided to go with the Bilstein 5100 as I know this will be a big upgrade over stock.

Get Bilstein 5100 (I THINK) the silver ones, and a new steering stabilizer. You won't be sorry

I have always changed the Stock shocks to Bilstein 5100 series. Can really tell the difference. Slightly Stiffer than Stock with out the trailer. But when loaded they make for a very comfortable ride.

I put FOX 2.0 Shocks on my Ram 3500 dually. Made a huge difference on the paved surfaces. Very easy DIY install.

I recently installed 2nd set of bilsteins in my 2017 F350 last year.. I overheated them and blew seals in Death Valley.. great warranty .. replaced without question
Next truck I’m thinking of shocks with separate fluid reservoir to keep them cooler..
Also...
I have had 3 tire failures with the michelin AT2 series tires since 2011.. pressure monitoring was useless as the catastrophic failure just happened 2 fast.
2 fronts and 1 rear.. be careful out there
And yes always significant body damage on 2 of the catastrophic failures.. last failure felt like a out of balance tire and caught it before it let loose in the middle of Arizona
Tire pressure checked daily
Watch those AT2 really close for any slight defects.
The Truck rides rough so on some roads it’s hard to notice..
