Pullrite #2900 hitch questions
Just picked up a #2900 Superglide hitch. Have a couple questions. I have read the owners manual but need some clarifications.
1. Manual says in 11/2009 Pullrite changed to plastic wear tabs. How can I find the age of the hitch I purchased, I do not see a serial number on the hitch if there is one?
2. Manual says use light oil (WD40 - 3in1) oil to lubricate. My hitch has some heavy grease applied liberally all over it. Should I remove all this old grease and start over?
3. I will be ordering a new capture plate, the hitch I purchased cam with one, but I can find no markings to determine if it is the correct one for my 19 High Country 331rl
I am moving from a Reese Manual Slide Pro 15k
Any help with the questions would be appreciated

First of all, welcome to the forum! The heavy grease was used on the older style hitch and some folks have continued to use it on the new ones by mistake. I would call Pullrite, they have good customer service, and ask them how to identify what year you have. I can't get to mine to look until it warms up some.

My new Pullrite Autoslide only appears to have a sticker on the base frame driver's side with the label designating it as rated for 24,000lbs via a box with check mark...I feel this sticker will not last long

Yes, same and I looked everywhere for an ID plate of some sort or another but nothing.

I agree to call Pullright customer service, they helped me out before. Mine is older and uses wheel bearing grease.

Since yours seems to be around 2005, must be different than my old one. I had a 2006 Pullrite. It used white lithium spray grease. Messy stuff.
I upgraded in 2014 and got a new hitch. It uses WD-40 on rails and top slide surface. A little less messy.
But neither used axle grease.
EDIT: Agree about customer service. I got very good phone help and even better in person. The dealer installed the wrong hitch plate on my new trailer in 2014. Worked but didn't seem right. On way to rally I stopped at Pullrite headquarters. Talked to original owner for an hour - he seemed to like it since he was retired and liked to reminisce. They ended up giving me a hitch plate for free - I think they cost over $100. Really good service.

I also had Reese 15K slider hitch but after 11 years it froze and would not slide to put the hitch in maneuver position so replaced it with a Pullrite Superglide hitch
2. Remove the grease. The plate and it's moving parts should be lubricated with a light lubricant such as WD-40 or 3-in-1 oil, before each trip or as needed. I used WD-40 on mine.
3. You can find the correct capture plate if you know your king pin box manufacturer and model OR measure dimensions A, B and C per the links below.

Thanks all for the help. PullRite responded on the hitch. It is a newer hitch, they suggested removing the grease and cleaning it up. then use WD-40. Funny thing the hitch has a sticker on that says do not use grease, use WD-40......
Anyway ordered the capture plate and a hoist for my shop. Hopefully we will warm up so I can work on it.
Thanks again
