Sensor for Lipert Level up system
I was having trouble with my leveling system. When trying to auto level not all the jacks would go down and had to level manually. The problem is this sensor ( $209.00 bucks ) Works great now.

Where was/is the sensor located on your rig?

Wow, that was a pricey fix. My level cost about 5 bucks and it's still working fine.
The only problem with expensive push button technology is the price of the buttons. Good job on figuring out your problem and getting it fixed. I'm sure you'll forget the cost of the fix over time and every time you level your rig automatically. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong with it.

Have had ours since July 2014. Spend 9-10 months of the year using the rig. One failure, touch pad, ordered replacement directly from Lippert for $200 and change and installed. Love the six point leveling system and worth every penny to me. I would also like to see the response indicating the location of that sensor.

Bob, it is located in the back by the rear axle. You have to drop the underbelly to get to it.

Interesting, we were haveing the same issues and had that same rear sensor replaced under warranty in August. Ours was a year and a half old at the time.

I was told by Lippert tech that it was located on the cross member behind rear axle. Can anyone verify that, and is it in the center of cross beam?

The manual says that the sensor is usually located 2 to 3 feet behind the rear most axle. It shouldn't be to hard to find once you drop the insulation.

Heres a 2022 3781RL picture from factory tour. Center of crossmember. Push up firmly on underbelly from just behind rear axle until you feel crossmember. I'm guessing it will be close to in line with rear jacks. Notice fresh water tank in background at rear of frame for extra reference.

Also have a question about the Lippert leveling system on our 2020 3740 FB, we leave it in a park for most of the year, should it be cycled every now and then? Or should we use permanent jacks instead of relying on the Lippert jacks for support?

I'm.with Tony as per the manual, but our rigs do seem to be built willy nilly at times

Ricefarmer - i had an issue with my hydraulic leveling system Dec 2022 where my passenger side jacks would not stay up…they would creep down (not all the way). I did not have any leaks in the system. Forum members here urged me to cycle the hydraulic system several times to remove a possible air bubble. This was sort if at the tail end after covid shut downs and my RV had been sitting for a year or more and i had put the slides in and out a few times for access but had not touched the leveling system. Cycling the system 5 to 7 times cured my issue. Therefore i am resolved to work my levelers manually every month or 2…and work the slide rooms also. It is dusty out in the boondocks where i live so i will be wiping down the rams with silicone before running the system.

Checked my slide out rams, was surprised to find them extremely rusted do to the salt air at the coast where our Montana is located!! Afraid to cycle them now, worried it will harm the Ram seals when they retract! Will try to clean them up. Anyone have this problem.

Ricefarmer - start a new thread titled "Rusted hydraulic rams" and explain your situation. That will get attention from the folks who can advise you what to do. I will bet somebody here has been there and done that.

I called Lippert customer service today. Wanted to know how to maintain my Montana's Leveling system. Talked to a nice guy, didn't write down his name, he told me to add one quart of Caterpillar Hydraulic Conditioning oil to my system to preserve the seals in my hydraulic Rams. And he suggested that I cycle them a few times a year.
I had called them on my Home landline phone. And hour later I received an email from Lippert saying I had a case# assigned to me about my 2020 Montana Maintenace question
Which was strange as I never gave them any info except my first name!!
