Mesa, AZ campgrounds
We will be going to Mesa for a wedding in late Oct and even though I have found campgrounds with about 16 gazillion sites there, I wanted to know if anyone has preferences as to which one to stay at.

ARJ,
There is a really nice county park on the north side of Mesa. We stayed there a couple of times. It has water and electric and a dump station. Very nice bathrooms.
Usery Mountain Park
The above link should take you to the Usery Mountain Park info. Most sites are pull thrus and are huge.
Of course there are probably hundreds of commercial parks in the Apache Junction / Mesa area.
Good luck.

We stayed at Mesa Spirit a couple of years ago. Lots of activities and close to everything. We enjoyed it and would go back again. While we were in Mesa for the two weeks, we tootled around to other parks and didn't find anything that we liked better.

We stayed at Mesa Spirit several years ago. It was a very nice park but a little tight. When we stayed there, about 2003 or 2004, they had a special for those in their park for the first time. If I recall, I it was something like $10/night for the first three nights. I'm sure it's higher now but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
We more recently tried three other parks. We called the first one, they said no problem with our size. But when we got there, we backed into their largest site and with the rig right up against the power pole (maybe 3 inches clearance) our nose stuck out into the street 2 feet. We called another, got there. No fit. Same with a third. We finally ended up at a nice park with spacious sites south of Florence, a bit out of your way. Mesa Spirit was full so we couldn't go back there.

We stayed here for a month, two years ago. It is on the border of Mesa and Apache Junction. My son lived in Mesa, hence this park. I would recommend it for a few days if you can get in there, remember, this is high season for the AZ area.
