I just got my oil/filter changed at the dealer (use my own stuff and it is cheap enough that I don't do it myself - besides I have a hell of a time getting up off the creeper).
Well, I was informed that both front hubs/bearings need to be replaced. Huh? 100k miles. That didn't sound right so I jacked her up and sure enough-the wheels are loose as a goose. My GMC is a 2002 and it seems that it is a common problem from what I read on the net.
So, those of you with Chevy/GMC trucks may want to check for worn bearings too! I am assuming that this applies to all models of these GM trucks.
Well, I was quoted $1250 for the job so I looked for parts and found them on Amazon as well as many other places. Seems Timken is the way to go and here is the link to the parts as well as a link detailing how to DIY.

This Amazon link is for 2002 2500HD hubs. You will need to do research if you have a different year/model.

The hub is also available on EBAY from the same seller but free shipping.
