switching to attwood water heater
Has anyone out there replaced their suburban 12 gallon water heater, sw12del with an attwood 10 gallon xt model? Thought I would ask after searching archives with no results. Hopefully our heater will hang in until weare back in florida and I have time to change it. John

My suburban has two pin hole leaks within the sides of the gas heating tube, so it needs to be replaced soon. I get water running slowly out front cover due to this. Attwood is aluminum tank heater, not glass coated steel. In eight years that I had my diesel pusher with attwood, I never had one problem. This suburban is now three years old...but we are fulltimers...so it has gotten a ton of use. So I asked the question out of curiosity. I know one moc'r has changed to tankless, but don't know if I want to go there. John

Our Suburban was flawless for over 9 years of full timing. We flushed out good a couple times a year and made sure the anode rod was good.

The advantage of going with the Atwood XT series is the increased volume of Hot Water.
