I use the same car washing soap with wax in it that I use to wash the Montana. I do add a small amount of bleach to the awning water and it helps with the white underside. Any good mild detergent should work fine. Do not use any that has a citrus smell.

I tape a few Mr. Clean erasers to a squeegee and then dry with a large towel. Then condition with a conditioner.

I open it up....use a spray bottle with a little bleach and Dawn dish soap. Spray it on the underside....roll it up for about 20-30 minutes.....hose it off.

I do the same as mlh and cpaulsen but when I roll it out after the soak period I hit top and bottom with the same brush I scrub the sides with. Then I rinse it off. Seems to get rid of any light stains I've picked up. Jim

I use Simple Green...if you use a bleach mix, don't get it on the Montana.

Haven't had to clean ours since we bought it but we used to open our old one up, spray Awesome on the underside and the top, then roll it up and let it set for about twenty to thirty minutes, unrolled it, scrubbed it down with a long handled brush we us to wash the unit, then hose it off.

Thanks everyone, it sounds easy enough. I might skip the gym the day I do it, don't think I will need a shoulder and arm workout! I appreciate you advise!

I asked that very question to one of the owners of Care Free of Colorado awnings He said " mix Dawn brand dish soap one part water and 10 parts water. Spray it on and roll up the awning for about an hour.. Then unroll, gently scrub with your car wash brush and rinse. Repeat if needed". That worked! Important to,do it on a.cool day and moderate temperatures.

For stubborn stains use a Mr. Clean Magic Erase Sponge -- it works like magic!
Don't use a high pressure washer, and don't ask me how i know.....

I use Dawn and Oxyclean in a bucket of Hot Water and A long handled brush if really dirty I will spray like others and roll up and soak. Oxyclean a lot safer then bleach. I have done a number on my lawn and jeans using bleach.
