Overhead door struts
I saw Bingo and others post they installed door struts on over head doors. I can't seem to find where they purchased them. Does anyone know a good source?

We got ours at Camping World. There are a couple of different kinds there, plastic and metal. I am sure similar could be had on Amazon or online sources. The main word of advice I will pass on is to pre-drill the holes for the screws. I used tape on the bit as a depth marker.

Thanks, Bingo. Did you use plastic or metal?

Like Bingo, I got mine at Camping World. I used the plastic ones. Comes two to a package. I thought I might need two on the door, but one holds it up fine.

I used these metal ones:
Metal Cabinet Brackets
Others recommended these plastic ones due to the additional mounting screws:
Plastic Cabinet Brackets
Both types come in sets of two.
Whoops, duplicated some of Bill's post, and as he said, you really only need one bracket per door.

I got mine, plastic, at an RV sales and service in KC. Most have them now days, but in some shops you have to ask at the parts counter.

I'm guessing you used the struts on the doors over the microwave. How far will the doors open using the struts?

I just did mine and As far as you want ,just depends how you mount them, it took me a few "trial mounts" to get them where I wanted them , of course you want it wide open and that is how I did mine the pull handle almost goes to the top, FYI just like Bingo said pre-drill the holes after marking them that Wood is HARD especially if it is the Hickory wood and also like was said before one does the job if you want 2 you have to relocate the close latch on the left side which I did on my old Monty with no problem

Mine is on a door over the kitchen counter and next to the microwave. It holds the door about 10-15 degrees above horizontal.

It's worth doing. As far as Joyce is concerned that's the best mod I've ever done. To me it was small potatoes.
